Bright Little Stars Harrow and Stanmore had a fantastic time attending a Healthy Early Years London (HEYL) event as a result of working towards their HEYL awards. Both Bright Little Stars nurseries have achieved the first steps, bronze, and silver awards, and are now working towards their gold. Harrow settings have the highest amount of people signed up to the scheme in the whole of London.
During the evening, there were a range of presentations including one conducted by the BLS team on speech, language and communication.
In addition, there were a range of case studies on health topics including how to support Oral Health in an early years setting.
The promotion of children’s health and well-being is at the forefront of this award. Oral health is also one of the main focuses when completing the silver award and is very important to Bright Little Stars. BLS Stratford has successfully promoted oral health in their nursery and has achieved an Oral Health Gold Award, as a whole BLS strives to support and improve children’s oral health.
Sadiq Khan, Mayor of London has expressed his gratitude and stated “I want to congratulate and thank everyone in Harrow who continues to work to achieve better health outcomes for children. The work of early years practitioners throughout the pandemic and beyond has been exceptional. Your commitment to providing young Londoners with the best start in life is invaluable to children, families and local communities and as Mayor, I am grateful for your ongoing commitment.”
Bright Little Stars are fully committed to promoting high standards of oral health by means of educating staff, families, and children through fun educational creative play opportunities throughout our nurseries.
