    Learning Rooms

We have three bright learning rooms specially designed for each of our age groups of babies, toddlers and pre-school featuring high ceilings and dual air-conditioning/heating systems. We have carefully selected and are well equipped with high quality resources and equipment to meet all of our individual children’s needs which will ensure your child has the best care and learning facilities possible.

    Outdoor Activities

Our outdoor play area gives each room access to the outdoors, encouraging children to explore their physical potential and promoting the free flow of learning and exploration.

    What Makes us Special?

We place great emphasis on taking education further afield. Our educators and children regularly visit the local area to extend learning and bring experiences to life, from local parks and green spaces to community events in the heart of North London.

    Request A Viewing

Our nursery is opening in late 2026 and we are now taking registrations of interest.

Please contact us via our Request A Viewing online form and a member of our team will be in touch.

    Hornsey Nursery

  • Our Hornsey Nursery features modern learning spaces thoughtfully designed for each age group, from babies to pre-schoolers. Equipped with high-quality resources and innovative technology, these spaces inspire curiosity, creativity and exploration. With easy access to our engaging outdoor areas, children can move freely between indoor and outdoor learning in a nurturing, family-like environment rooted in truth, love and compassion.

    • Milky Way – Baby Room

Welcome to our baby room, designed for babies and toddlers aged 6 months onwards. We have created a tranquil, bright and spacious area where babies can settle, develop and explore in a safe and caring environment, with stimulating resources to encourage their natural curiosity.

The room features a separate sleep area furnished with cots and dream coracles, and its own Milk Kitchen so staff can prepare feeds without leaving the room. We mirror your baby’s home routines — feeding, nappy changes and sleep — guided by their dedicated Key Person.

Our passionate practitioners provide a rich variety of activities through movement, sound, colour and touch — helping babies explore, develop and feel settled and secure. Children enjoy music and singing, creative play, outdoor free-flow time, and our bespoke Baby Sensory sessions.

    • Orion – Toddler Room

The toddler room welcomes children transitioning from the baby room. Each child is assigned a new Key Person to support them through this transition and continue their learning journey. The room is designed to promote independence — with accessible toilets, coat pegs and self-serve mealtimes — preparing children for the pre-school room.

Children are encouraged to dress themselves, wash their hands, and develop at their own pace. Key Persons assess development using the 7 Areas of Learning from the EYFS, including a formal Two-Year-Old Development Check. The room is split between a cosy reading and group area and an open, spacious creative zone, with free-flow access to the outdoor play area.

    • Supernova – Pre School Room

Our pre-school room is specifically designed to ensure children are ready and eager to start mainstream school. Encompassing ‘School Hours’ within the nursery day, the room benefits from a Qualified Teacher who leads group teaching sessions, adult-led small group activities and child-initiated learning.

Children are encouraged to make their own choices, channel their creativity, and take pride in their work. We support healthy risk-taking and challenging play, alongside great table manners and independence at mealtimes. Our 4+ Assessment Programme ensures every child transitions to school fully prepared and confident.

    • Funding, Tax-Free Childcare and Vouchers

      Government Funding

The Government funds Local Authorities to offer subsidised early education places in settings inspected by Ofsted. We are proud to offer both 15 and 30 hours of fully funded and partially funded childcare per week.

Children become eligible for funding starting from the term after they meet the relevant age criteria. Local Authority conditions apply.

From September 2025, working parents of children aged 9 months and above will be entitled to 30 hours of funded childcare per week.
To qualify for the 9-months-plus funding, each parent (or the sole parent in a lone-parent family) must earn, on average, at least the equivalent of 16 hours at the National Minimum Wage and have an income of no more than £100,000 per year. Self-employed parents and those on zero-hours contracts will also be eligible if they meet the average earnings threshold.

Families where one or neither parent is in paid employment will generally not be eligible for the additional 15 funded hours. However, exceptions apply for parents who are on parental, maternity, paternity, adoption, or sick leave. Parents who are studying or in training are not eligible unless this is combined with paid work that meets the minimum earnings criteria.

Additionally, eligible working parents of 3- and 4-year-olds may access up to 570 additional funded hours of childcare per year. This means 3- and 4-year-olds could receive a total of 30 hours of funded childcare per week, for 38 weeks a year, subject to meeting the government’s eligibility criteria.

The funded Early Education entitlement starts the term after your child becomes eligible and includes either 570 hours (15 hours per week) or 1,140 hours (30 hours per week) across the year.

At Bright Little Stars, we stretch the funded entitlement across 52 weeks to provide consistency and care throughout the year. To enrich your child’s experience, we offer a range of enhanced and unique services, including:

      • Nutritionally balanced meals designed by a qualified nutritionist
      • ParentCam (live nursery streaming for parents)
      • Digital access to your child’s online learning journal with real-time updates
      • A home learning platform to extend learning beyond the classroom
      • Qualified teachers leading our pre-schools and personalised support for school applications
      • Parent educational workshops with access to an extensive database of recordings
      • Many other value-added services

Additional charges apply for services that are not included within government funded sessions. Where these services are selected, all costs are clearly itemised.  A full breakdown of additional charges is available upon request.
To find out more about your childcare funding options, please visit the Childcare Choices website.
      Please note:
While we participate in the 15 and 30 hours funded entitlement to Early Years Education, participation does not guarantee the availability of a place.

      Tax-Free Childcare

All BLS Nurseries are registered and accept payments from Tax-Free Childcare accounts.  Tax-Free Childcare is a more accessible alternative to the Employer Childcare Voucher scheme offering tax efficient savings when paying for your nursery fees. Tax-Free Childcare will be open to all qualifying parents, unlike childcare vouchers which can only be bought by people whose employer offers the scheme.  It is a scheme by which the government will top up a designated childcare bank account by 20p for every 80p deposited, up to a maximum of £2,000 per child per year.  It is the responsibility of the parent to ensure the Tax-Free Childcare payments are set up in line with the terms of the Bright Little Stars Contract.

Tax-Free Childcare can be used alongside the 15 and 30 hours funded entitlement to Early Years Education and will support families with their childcare costs.

To find out if you are eligible or for more detailed information and how to register, please visit the Government Childcare Service website.  Please also see the Frequently Asked Questions in our Parent Information for further terms and conditions.

      Childcare Vouchers

We accept Childcare Vouchers from employers who offer this benefit to their eligible employees as an e-voucher. Vouchers are non-taxable and exempt from NI contributions for employees, whilst offering NI savings for employers. Both parents are eligible to claim as long as they are both in employment.
