The role at a glance
- Role: Nursery Room Leader (Toddler Room)
- Salary: £33,700 per annum, including up to 10% performance bonus you can earn
- Hours: Full Time, 40 hours per week, all year round
- Location: Bright Little Stars, Barnet, EN5 5EB
What you’ll do
- Lead and manage your base room, ensuring daily routines and EYFS requirements are consistently met.
- Track children’s developmental progress, identify additional needs and plan activities that drive outstanding outcomes.
- Build strong relationships with parents through regular updates, meetings and home learning support.
- Manage, coach and motivate your room team, including deployment, supervision and appraisals.
- Act as a key person for a group of children, keeping accurate observations and development records.
- Champion safeguarding, health and safety, and best practice across the room at all times.
What we’re looking for
- Level 3 Early Years qualification (or equivalent), as required by OFSTED guidelines.
- Proven experience leading or supervising a team in an early years setting.
- Strong knowledge of the EYFS framework and relevant legislation.
- Excellent communication skills with children, parents and colleagues.
- Experience managing a group of key children and completing developmental records.
- A caring, solution-focused approach with real commitment to high-quality childcare.
